Because it wasn’t enough to have developed the graphics for the festival, I eagerly stuck up my hand to create the soundtrack for the festival trailer.
While I normally relish writing music from the ground up, in this case I took the most solemn, lump-in-the-throat piece of music from the Jewish canon, The Hatikva, and reimagined it as a funky, retro groove.
Indeed, when people ask me if I’m religious, I can earnestly reply, “sacrilegious”.
It was also thrilling writing the saxophone parts, which were then played so expertly by Ben Blay.
The whistling came care of mein lovey wife, Rachel 😀
And I played the rest of it.
