Some projects run rings around others. This was a case in point.
The task was to design an identity and flag for a London based running group from Richmond Park.
The idea was to take the flags with them as they ran in the gruelling Marathon Des Sable.
Held in the Sahara Desert, it’s billed as the toughest foot race on earth. Better them than me I say.
As Richmond Park is famously home to many wild deer, it inspired me to reconfigure the stripes of the Union Jack into some deer antlers. As a result, it simultaneously evoked their British nationality as well as their local origin.
As you can imagine, it was quite surreal to later see the photographs of the Adrian Elton Creative* designed flag, flying high on the searing hot plains of the Sahara.
