Simply Avocados was a case in point as it was hard to fathom how lazy consumers must be if there was a viable mass market for this.
Notwithstanding the fact that this could be a beneficial product for the physically incapcitated, it makes you wonder if there’s also a market for pre-peeled oranges and mandarins too.
And while many foods legitimately need to be properly packaged, this also seemed to be the kind of product that generates completely avoidable waste. Afterall, avocados already have quite lovely dark green packaging.
Understandably, this isn’t the ad that ran. But it’s one of my favourite pieces of copywriting as it weaves such a curious and unlikely story, while gently underlining the product’s inherent absurdity.
