It’s no secret. The cost of a private school education is prohibitive for many families.
Recognising this, Bialik do everything they can to facilitate educational opportunities for as many students as possible, regardless of circumstance.
Beyond the ongoing generosity and support of the college’s major donors, it is initiatives like the annual community appeal that can meaningfully extend these opportunities even further.
The concept for the 2016 appeal was all about illustrating the idea of putting a Bialik education within the reach of all students. This was dramatised by featuring a student skipping along the landscaped rockery, reaching upwards towards a benevolent, guiding hand. The location of the shot also allowed us to show off the impressive facade of the school’s recently built library.
The school was keen to re-run the 2016 art for the 2017 appeal, but I convinced them to reshoot our 2016 talent, one year on, and for her to be leading a younger child who was symbolically the next in line to benefit from the community’s generosity.
I also wrote the copy which locked into the Be Your Best positioning that I had developed for the school a few years earlier.
